About this video

What opportunities open up when a child has a tool for learning and discovery of their own? One Laptop per Child began in 2005 with the idea of widening access to digital learning tools. A laptop would give a child something of their own to explore, experiment and learn with.

Uruguay’s Ceibal provides a separate example of bringing digital tools to pupils in state schools. Together, these experiences draw attention to access: how technology reaches children and becomes something they can use in their learning.
