About this video

What changes when receiving donated clothes feels more like choosing something for yourself? The Street Store began in Cape Town, South Africa, in 2014 with that approach. People can choose the donated clothes they need and like, free of charge.

Personal choice and dignity are part of the help being offered. Clothing is personal, and the tastes and wishes of the person wearing it matter. The Street Store makes room for those choices within a clothing donation project.
